Story :
Mask is not a movie in the lines of Batman, Spiderman where the hero has super powers. It is a simple story of a man, Anand aka Bruce Lee (Jiva), an unemployed BSc grad who wants to make a living with his martial art skills. He also tries to woo his girl, Pooja Hegde with the costume of a super hero and in one such attempt he found himself in between a chasing cops and robbers. Then on he decides to assist people and fights against injustice. There comes a ruthless villan who master minds a plan where the superhero is thought as a robber by everyone. Now how the hero proves himself and wins his love can be seen in silver screens.
Performance :
Jiiva was good as Anand (Bruce Lee).As he is a real time Kung Fu expert, he was well prepared with Kung Fu martial art and rocked the action sequence. The villan role played by Narain was not so appealing and audience aren't convinced with his look and his acting was poor. There is no much scope for lead lady Pooja Hegde. Pretty, Sweet and had a good intro as someone who fights for justice.Naseer played an intelligent cop and as the father of Heroine. As a veteran, he played his role very well.Girish Karnad played Jiiva’s grandfather and one of the man behind the formation of Bruce Lee’s costume and mask done justice to their roles.
Plus :
Story
Jeeva,Naseer action
Action Sequences
Cinematography
Minus:
Editing
Music
Screen Play:
Narration of the movie is slow
Villan character was not so convincing
Analysis :
Mysskin has well tried to narrate us the story of right v/s wrong through Bruce Lee’s perspective, but the narration is quite slow and the romantic track between the leads fails to connect to audiences. The dubbing for the Telugu version is not good. The positives of Mask are well-choreographed action sequences and good technical values. First half entertains you a bit while the second half falls flat with neither entertainment nor racy or interesting screenplay. VFX scenes were good. Despite being technically strong, the script was superficial and lacks in emotional depth
Verdict :
Except for the action sequences. The Flick offers nothing new for Movie lovers. You can give it a miss!
